I saw the HOME-BREW Microhydro power photo.
This design is extremely poor and photo promotes a hydro that have a basic problem and it is the throat ( nozzle) of the unit.
It should be at taken of your site or the proper warnings CLEARLY indicated to make sure that people do not make those MAJOR
ERRORS.
1 )The Nozzle throat area is greater than the area of the pipe. BASIC ERROR that indicates lack of "Banki" technical know-how.
( Nozzle area should not greater than 0.65 of the pipe area ) -- One need to understand water pressure and head to attain
maximum power output.
2) The Nozzle should cover at least 2 or 3 blades at the same time, ( in reality around 80 to 90 degrees of the wheel), therefore
the nozzle needs to be rotated 90 degrees and conformed with the radius of the wheel.
3) The Nozzle is forcing the rotation of the turbine the wrong way.
4) To attain # 2 it is necessary place the Nozzle on top of the turbine and the Nozzle covering the opposite 90 degrees of
the turbine. Or the turbine & generator rotated 180 degrees to place the blades with proper blade angle to the water corrected
Nozzle.
The process of defining the Nozzle for the banki is one of the problems of this type of turbine, since the water hitting the
blades exit behind them ( toward the axis) then passing the body of the banki to hit the blades at the other side to harvest
additional 15 to 20 % power, and most people making Bankis fail to recognize this process.
The photo shows with the exiting water all those basic problems. though the turbine generates power
